Students and Parents

Empowering Students and Parents (ESP) is a program partnership of the Disability Action Center, United Way of the Piedmont, and corporate and individual donors. The program provides support to parents and students who have a disability in Cherokee and Union Counties.

The objective to the ESP program is to support and empower students with disabilities to successfully learn in school, complete school with a high school diploma or certificate, and also prepare for their future by creating an independent living plan. The ESP program also educates the parent/caregiver about their child’s rights to education and in the community. With ESP’s support, the parent and students are both supported and become aware of the unlimited possibilities regarding independent living.
