Peer Support
Staff and trained volunteers are available to persons with disabilities who are looking for support and assistance. The DAC also offers three peer support programs:
- One-on-one peer support
- Peer support groups
- Online peer support programs.
Online and live peer support groups are held the last Thursday in the month from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 pm. Peer support groups are held in both Midlands and Upstate DAC offices. Click here to view our Peer Support Group Flyer.
Information & Referral
The Disability Action Center provides information about disability related resources. Topics include, Americans with Disabilities Act, employment, benefits, community resources, transportation, housing, adaptive equipment and voting.
Independent Living
The DAC staff provides independent living assessment and training in independent living skills training in areas such as: computer skills, budgeting, household management, housing, cooking, communication, transportation and much more!
Individual & Systems Advocacy
The DAC assists individuals with advocacy by providing consumers with the necessary community support. The DAC is also involved in activities to make changes in the community so that people with disabilities can live independently.
