Mission: Empowering People with Disabilities to Reach their Highest Level of Independence
How services are provided: The Disability Action Center’s staff provides information and support to allow individuals with disabilities to make informed decisions about their independent living/disability related needs. The consumers direct their case and are supported by Independent Living Specialists and/or Peer Supporters. When a person calls the Disability Action Center for services, the case will be assigned to an independent living specialist and/or peer supporter to assist the consumer with reaching their independent living goals.
Counties Served: The DAC has two offices in South Carolina, serving 23 counties.
Midlands Region: Calhoun, Chester, Clarendon, Fairfield, Kershaw,
Lee, Lexington, Newberry, Orangeburg, Richland, Saluda, Sumter and York Counties
Upstate Region: Abbeville, Anderson, Cherokee, Greenville, Greenwood,
Laurens, Oconee, Pickens, Spartanburg, and Union Counties.
