Empowering People with Disabilities to Reach their Highest Level of Independence

The Disability Action Center, Inc. (DAC) is a nonprofit, consumer controlled Center for Independent Living (CIL) that provides an array of services to people of all ages with all types of disabilities in 23 counties in SC. The DAC’s programs and services provide knowledge and tools to assist people with disabilities to reach their independent living goals.

A Center for Independent Living is a consumer-controlled, community-based, cross-disability, nonresidential private nonprofit organization that is designed and operated within a local community by individuals with disabilities and provides an array of independent living services.

51% of the staff members are persons with disabilities; 51% of the Board of Directors are also persons with disabilities.

The Disability Action Center is proud to be a United Way Agency Partner.
